Special Products

  • Rigid, gas permeable contact lenses worn overnight to reduce nearsightedness by temporarily and reversibly reshaping the cornea (front surface of the eye). Studies have shown slowing of axial length elongation between 30-60% and slowing of myopia progression between 30-56%. Bonus: Elimination of daytime spectacle wear. We use BeFree Orthor-K lenses and Abiliti Ortho-K lenses.

  • These lenses have two or more powers that are thought to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children by focusing light in the periphery of the eye in line with or in front of the retina. Studies have shown slowing of both myopia progression and axial length elongation.

We have been using MiSight and Abiliti™ 1-Day contact lenses to fit the best candidates since their introduction.

We have used Stellest and MiyoSmart to fit the best candidates since the introduction of defocus frame glasses. Other custom lenses are also fitted based on power in myopia control.

  • Newer contact lenses designed to help people with dry eye. Some people with severe dry eye may opt for special contact lenses that trap moisture and protect the surface of your eyes. These are called scleral lenses, bandage lenses, or biological corneal bandage devices.

  • FL-41 lenses: Certain blue light is thought to be particularly troublesome for patients with light sensitivity. FL-41 filters out these wavelengths of light.

Avulux Lenses: The only clinically proven lens for people with migraine and light sensitivity. Certain wavelengths of light have been shown to aggravate migraine headaches and even trigger migraine attacks. The lenses precisely filter this light to reduce light sensitivity and transmit green light, which is comfortable for migraine sufferers.

  • Amniotic membranes are derived from the placenta and contain several different stem cells and powerful growth factors. Doctors use the membrane as a graft to help heal various eye surface diseases. The graft may be a treatment option for people with severe or persistent dry eye by providing a protective barrier, reducing inflammation, and promoting healing.
